Jobber vs Housecall Pro: Jobber has the cheaper entry plan and publishes its add-on prices, but locks the cheapest rates behind a 1-year commitment or annual prepayment. Housecall Pro puts job costing and review management on its entry plan and has no long-term contracts, but sells AI call answering and websites as add-ons with no published price.
For a solo operator, Jobber is usually cheaper. For a team of five, the two are close, and the winner depends on which add-ons you need. All prices below are in USD, checked on each company’s pricing page in November 2026.

Jobber vs Housecall Pro pricing
Jobber
Jobber has four plans, each priced by team size, with three ways to pay: no commitment, a 1-year commitment billed monthly, or annual prepaid. From getjobber.com/pricing, in USD:
| Plan | Users | No commitment | 1-year commitment | Annual prepaid |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Core | 1 | $49 | $39 | $29 |
| Connect | 1 / 5 / 10 | $139 / $199 / $299 | $119 / $169 / $259 | $99 / $149 / $229 |
| Grow | 1 / 5 / 10 | $199 / $299 / $399 | $169 / $259 / $349 | $149 / $229 / $299 |
| Plus | 5 / 10 | $499 / $599 | $439 / $499 | $399 / $449 |
Add-ons: Marketing Suite $99/month, Pipeline $49/month, AI Receptionist $29/month (Jobber’s help centre says it includes 100 conversations a month). All three are included in Plus. Extra users are $29/month each.
Housecall Pro
Housecall Pro has three plans, from housecallpro.com/pricing, in USD excluding sales tax:
| Plan | Users | Billed monthly | Billed annually |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | 1 | $79 | $59 |
| Essentials | 5 | $189 | $149 |
| Max | 8 (+$35/mo each) | $329 | $299 |
Add-ons listed without prices: CSR AI, Sales Proposal Tool (included in Max), Pipeline, Payroll, Accounting, Business Coaching, Voice, Campaigns, vehicle GPS and dashcams, Tap to Pay and Websites. When we checked, the page also showed introductory offers ($26 for the first month on Basic or Essentials, $99/month for three months on Max).
Both pages change often and show promotions. Screenshot the price you’re quoted, and ask for the renewal price in writing.
What a 1, 5 and 10-person team pays
Monthly billing with no commitment, before add-ons and card fees. These are worked examples built from the published plan prices.
| Team | Jobber | Housecall Pro |
|---|---|---|
| 1 person, basics | $49 (Core) | $79 (Basic) |
| 1 person, with job costing | $199 (Grow) | $79 (Basic) |
| 5 people, scheduling and QuickBooks sync | $199 (Connect, 5 users) | $189 (Essentials) |
| 5 people, with job costing | $299 (Grow, 5 users) | $189 (Essentials) |
| 10 people | $399 (Grow, 10 users) | $399 (Max, 8 users + 2 × $35) |
Now add what most growing crews want: AI call answering and marketing. On Jobber Grow with 5 users that’s $299 + $29 + $99 = $427/month, or $499 for Plus with them bundled. On Housecall Pro you add CSR AI and Websites at whatever price sales quotes you, so you can’t compare that line without a sales call.
Housecall Pro is often cheaper on the plan. Jobber is easier to price all-in, because its add-on prices are public. Get both in writing for your crew size.
Feature tiers compared
Both cover the basics on every plan: online booking, scheduling, quotes, invoices and online payments. The difference is which tier unlocks what.
| Feature | Jobber | Housecall Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Job costing | Grow and up | All plans |
| Review management | Marketing Suite add-on | All plans |
| Automated quote and invoice follow-ups | Connect and up | Invoice reminders on all plans; Pipeline add-on for lead follow-ups |
| Two-way texting | Grow and up | Not broken out on the page |
| QuickBooks Online sync | Connect and up | Essentials and up |
| Checklists | Connect and up | Checklist automations, Essentials and up |
| Custom automations | Grow and up | Not broken out on the page |
| Sales proposals | Quote upsells and visuals on Grow | Max (otherwise an add-on) |
| Recurring service plans | Not broken out on the page | Max |
| Open API / Zapier | 100+ marketplace integrations, all plans | Max |
| Spanish | Mobile app in Spanish for team members | App and support in Spanish |
Jobber also lists routing and GPS tracking, and Housecall Pro lists routes and employee GPS from Essentials with route optimization on Max. If routing decides it for you, test both on a real day of jobs.
Card fees, contracts and trials
- Card processing: Jobber lists 2.9% + 30¢ for cards, 2.7% + 30¢ for Tap to Pay, 1% for bank payments and an extra 1% for instant payouts. Housecall Pro lists card processing “as low as” 2.59% and 1% for bank payments.
- Contracts: Jobber’s lowest rates need a 1-year commitment (billing continues until the term ends) or an annual prepayment (non-refundable, per its FAQ). Housecall Pro’s FAQ says no long-term contracts are required.
- Trials: both are 14 days with no credit card. Jobber’s trial gives Grow features; Housecall Pro’s gives Max.
- Currency: both list prices in USD. Canadian contractors should convert at their bank’s rate.
On a $5,000 job paid by card, the difference between 2.9% + 30¢ and 2.59% is about $16. Over a year of card payments, that adds up, so ask Housecall Pro which rate you’ll actually get.
Review sites show similar themes for both. Reviewers on Capterra and similar sites praise both apps’ ease of use and scheduling, and for both they mention the bill climbing as users and add-ons stack up.
How to test both in 14 days
Both trials are 14 days with no credit card, so you can run them side by side. Don’t click around the demo data. Put one real week of your own work through each one.
Use real names and addresses so scheduling and routing reflect your actual area.
Add your ten most common services with your real prices and materials.
Send each quote to yourself from both apps. Which looks more professional on a phone? Which follows up without you?
Book the jobs, assign the crew and have them use the mobile app. Ask them which one they’d rather use.
Send invoices and take one small card payment in each to see the customer side.
Get the all-in monthly price for your crew size in writing from both, including call answering if you want it.
Keep notes as you go. The app your crew actually opens without being reminded is usually the right one, whatever the feature list says. And if you’ve never written down how you build a quote, our guide on how to write a contractor estimate will make the trial far more useful.
Who should pick which
Pick Jobber if
- You’re solo or very small and want the cheapest plan that works.
- You want every price published, including add-ons.
- You’re happy to commit to a year for a lower rate.
- You want a website included at no extra cost.
Pick Housecall Pro if
- You need job costing and review requests without paying for a top tier.
- You sell big-ticket work and want consumer financing.
- You don’t want any long-term commitment.
- You have a Spanish-speaking office or crew and want support in Spanish.
Whichever you pick, the software only pays off if you answer fast and follow up. Read speed to lead for contractors and how to price a contractor job before you set up your price book.
A third option: everything in one plan
If you’re pricing Jobber or Housecall Pro plus an AI receptionist, a website, review requests and marketing, it’s worth comparing an all-in-one. Contruva is one plan, Contruva Pro, at $249.99 CAD a month, with no per-seat pricing and nothing sold as an add-on.
It includes an AI receptionist that answers and books calls, one inbox for calls, texts, email and social messages, an AI-built website with weekly SEO pages, quotes with e-signature, scheduling, a crew app, job costing, invoices with Stripe payments (no extra Contruva fee), review requests and social, ads and email marketing. You can also text Contruva AI to follow up on quotes or chase invoices.
To be fair about the trade-offs: Contruva has no cheap solo tier, its trial is 7 days rather than 14, and it isn’t accounting software. For a crew that would otherwise pay for several add-ons, it’s usually the simpler bill. Compare it directly in Contruva vs Jobber and Contruva vs Housecall Pro, or see pricing.
