Enterprise field service management software is built for organizations running large field teams across many crews, regions or business units. It usually includes dispatch and scheduling, mobile work orders, asset and inventory tracking, deep ERP integration, single sign-on, audit trails and an open API. Contruva is not that kind of platform today. It’s a strong fit for large contractors in specific situations, though, and this page explains exactly which ones.
We’d rather you choose the right system than choose us for the wrong reasons. If you run 50 or more people, a software decision touches payroll, accounting, IT and every crew in the field. A mismatch costs far more than a subscription. So here’s a straight comparison, a checklist, and when to book a demo.
What do enterprise contractors need from field service software?
Large organizations that buy enterprise field service platforms tend to ask for the same list. Here’s that list, and an honest answer for each one as of November 2026:
| Requirement | Why large companies ask for it | Contruva today |
|---|---|---|
| Single sign-on (SSO / SAML) | IT controls logins centrally | No |
| Multi-branch or multi-company management | Separate regions or entities in one system | No. One business per account |
| ERP integration and open API | Connect to finance, HR and data warehouse | No public API. QuickBooks and Xero sync only |
| Audit logs | Compliance and change history | No |
| Inventory and asset tracking | Parts, stock and equipment history | No. Materials are logged per job |
| GPS tracking and route optimization | Large fleets and dense routes | No |
| Payroll | Pay hundreds of workers | No. Time entries per job feed your payroll process |
| Role-based permissions | Control what each person sees | Yes. Owner, admin, member; none, view or edit per module |
| Mobile crew app | Field data from the job | Yes. Clock-in, checklists, photos, daily logs, materials |
| Scheduling and dispatch | Assign crews and move work | Yes. Drag-and-drop calendar with Google and Outlook sync |
| Quoting, change orders and invoicing | Sell and bill the work | Yes, with e-signature, deposits, recurring and batch invoices |
| Job costing | Margin by job | Yes. Quoted vs actual on labour and materials |
| Per-user pricing | Usually how enterprise tools bill | No per-seat fees. $249.99 CAD a month |
If the “No” rows are hard requirements for you, Contruva isn’t the right system for the whole company today, and a dedicated enterprise platform will serve you better. That’s a perfectly good outcome of reading this page.
Where Contruva fits a large contractor
Plenty of companies with 50 or more people don’t need everything on that list. Contruva tends to work well in three situations:
- A service or residential division of a larger contractor. The main business runs on a construction ERP built for big projects. The service, repair or residential team runs dozens of small jobs a week and needs fast quotes, a calendar, a crew app and card payments. That division can run on Contruva without changing the rest of the company.
- Multi-crew residential and light-commercial contractors. Landscaping, roofing, HVAC, painting and renovation companies with many crews, one office and one set of books. You need scheduling, permissions, job costing and a crew app, not ERP connectors.
- Companies tired of per-seat bills. If you’re paying per technician for software your crews mostly use to see their jobs and clock in, a flat price for the business can be a real saving.
In each case, Contruva also brings things enterprise platforms often leave to other vendors: the AI receptionist, an AI-built website, review requests, social posts and newsletters, and Contruva AI, which you can text to follow up quotes, chase invoices or reach past customers, with settings for what it does on its own and what it asks about first.
Enterprise construction software vs. field service software
The two get mixed up in search results, and they solve different problems. Enterprise construction software (suites from vendors like Procore, Jonas and others) is built around projects: drawings, RFIs, submittals, bids, subcontractor management, schedules with dependencies and progress billing. Enterprise field service management software (platforms like Salesforce Field Service, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service, Oracle Field Service, SAP Field Service Management and ServiceNow) is built around work orders, technicians, assets and service contracts, often connected to an ERP. For large residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical service companies, trade-specific platforms like ServiceTitan are common; our ServiceTitan alternatives page covers that market.
Contruva is closer to field service than construction project management. It doesn’t do bid or tender management, Gantt charts or AIA billing. If those are the core of your work, look at a construction suite. The commercial contractors page goes deeper on that line.
Software for large contractors: the real costs to compare
Enterprise software is rarely priced on the website. Expect quotes per user or per technician, implementation fees, and multi-year terms. ServiceTitan’s annual report, for example, says its contract terms typically run 12 to 36 months; our ServiceTitan pricing breakdown has the detail. When you compare, count all of it:
- Licence cost for every person who needs a login, including seasonal and office staff.
- Implementation, data migration and training fees.
- Contract length and what happens if you want to leave.
- Integration or middleware costs to connect the ERP, payroll and accounting.
- Add-ons for call answering, marketing, websites and reviews, if you need them.
- Internal time: someone on your team will own the rollout.
Price the enterprise platform for the whole company, then price only the division or crews that would actually use Contruva. Sometimes the right answer is both: the ERP for the core business and Contruva for the service team.
How to choose enterprise field service management software
Use this checklist before you sit through demos, so you’re judging every vendor against your needs instead of their slides:
SSO, multi-branch, API, audit logs, payroll, inventory. If you can’t live without it, it goes on the list. Anything else is a preference.
Office, sales, dispatch, crews, subcontractors, seasonal staff. This drives the price on per-user tools.
A real crew on real jobs for at least a week tells you more than any demo.
Contract length, data export and cancellation terms, in writing.
Lead hands and office staff decide whether it gets used. Put them in the trial.
Who answers when something breaks at 7 a.m., and how fast?
How to pilot Contruva in a large company
Most large contractors start small: one division, branch team or crew group, on real work during the 7-day free trial. Set up the office first (inbox, price book, receptionist), add one crew, then expand. Each person gets a crew account with the access level and module permissions that fit their role, and because there are no per-seat fees, adding the rest of the team later doesn’t change the bill.
Before you start, book a demo. A real person will talk through how your company is set up, what would move to Contruva and what should stay where it is, and how to migrate your customers, price book and open jobs. If the honest answer is that you need an enterprise suite, we’ll tell you.
If you’re smaller than this, see growing teams for 15 to 50 people. You can also browse by trade on the industries page or check what’s included on the pricing page.
